The minion is really nice, but there’s really no reason for it to be summoned by a spell except to fit the contest prompt. I’m also getting the impression that the minion was meant to be a Demon when you first made it, so it feels awkward that it’s a token.

Why not make it a spell that shuffles another spell into your deck?

Like:
Novaborn Ritual Preamble: 0 Mana, shuffle a NR Procession into your deck
Novaborn Ritual Procession: 1 Mana, shuffle a NR Finale into your deck
Novaborn Ritual Finale: 2 Mana, Summon a NR Archfiend nearby your genera

When you attack an enemy minion, shuffle it into your opponent’s deck. Increase the cost of all copies of it by 1. When you opponent summons any copy of that minion, Stun it.

A cool design but I feel it includes too many effects. The “shuffle it into your opponent’s deck” part seems cool but it reminds me of another card, Quahog, and in certain decks the effect might be too powerful- especially when combined with stun (although its delayed). Vanar swarm decks (if those things even exist in today’s meta) will become op since even the lowest stated minion can remove a big threat. I advise you to either change the cost, remove Stun or make it into a spell that is applied to only one minion.

Edit: I forgot to mention this but what happens when the copies are increased beyond 9 mana? Is it capped at 9?

Shuffle a Chain of Burden into your deck.

Aiming for a neutral disruption tool, similar to the Sphynx’s Riddle. Chain of Burden does nothing but clog up your hand, forcing you to use your replace or 2 mana to put it back into your deck.
Casting Chain of Burden or replacing it while Manticore is still active will do nothing (Manticore will put another copy into your action bar, and the prior copy gets shuffles into your deck).

The goal is to get multiple Chains into your opponent’s deck so it limits their options each turn as well as their hand size.

Really love the card! The only problem is that it does not follow the rules of the contest (as far as I know)

This month’s prompt: Design a spell or artifact that interacts in any way with your or your opponent’s deck of cards.

I will contact @attheedge regarding this since technically the card that interacts with your opponent’s action bar/ deck is a spell.

I suggest you change Manticore, make it into an artifact. As a side note, isnt there a possibility that you may fill your oppenent’s entire hand into Chains of burden? Although I realise that is the whole point of the card(s) it seems to me that it can be achieved too easily. Perhaps it would be best if the effect triggered only when a card is replaced OR played (choose one not both!)

Summon a random egg nearby your General. Shuffle a minion with Rebirth into your deck.

Wow. I enjoy the fact that you are trying to make an equivalent version of Abyssian’s Grandmaster Variax but this is not the proper way to do it.

1. Vaath’s BBs is rediculous. You can easily one shot your oppenent thanks to this card! Yet the reason this is bad card design is simply because an effect similar to this already exists! (Drogon doubles your general’s attack) what different purpose does this BBs serve?

2. This is the only BBs that could possibly be printed in the future (in my opinion). Strong but balanced. The love Starhorn needs. I suggest you “discard” the rest of the BBs ideas and focus only on this.

3. Ragnora’s BBs is too random and compared to the rest too weak. I advice you to change “Shuffle a minion with Rebirth into your deck.” with add a random Rebirth minion to your action bar. This still doesn’t make it better tho!

Finally, you never specified the Bloodborn spell’s costs (3?) and maybe you could name the rest of the BBs?

Whenever you replace a card, replace a card in your opponent’s hand with the card you discarded. Cannot replace Mythrons.

Design notes

As the opponent can replace the card given to them, this isn’t a particularly strong card on its own. However, this artifact was can interact with Aethermaster and Theobule, making it more interesting.

An interesting and fun card to both play with and against! Very few cards can achieve this!

However, I would like to point out some things that seem rather odd to me.

1. Why is this an Abyssian card? Which Abyssian cards do you think Mimicry Mirror would work well with? (Demonic Conversion?)

2. The wording is a bit weird towards the end… what do you mean by discarded? Shouldn’t it say "replaced"instead?

3. So basically you exchange cards with your opponent but your opponent’s card is shuffled inside your deck? Don’t you think there is a better way to exploit this effect?

4. How does this card interact with cards such as Astral Crusader or Inquisitor Kron? Does the replace effect trigger twice? Because you theoretically replace your card twice. Once you replace it into your deck and then secondly you replace/swap this again but with one of your opponent’s cards. Or does it count as one action?

So minions that create tolen spells or artifacts that fit the prompt are not eligible? Back to the drawing board again.

Aw man, I thought it would be ok because the spell interacts with the deck, the minion is there for thematic reasons like how Riddle is tied to Shynx. Of its illegal then Ill change it asap

I’m currently working on the remaining other Awesome-like BBSs, but this little fella came into mind and i couldn’t think something as Magmar as space megabeast eggs dropping from orbit onto you.

But… buildings are clearly not eggs. How about: “Opening Gambit: Deal 10 damage to all nearby minions and transform this into a 10-health egg” (the 10 damage instead of destroy would compensate for egg synergy)

Free yourself from the constraints of visual fluff. For all i care it could simply have a custom sprite different from the standard build token (a monolithic egg-like structure), the important part is simply the idea of a slow-hatching monstrosity.

It’s not even that monstrous, though. Its power is all in the Opening Gambit. Make it a 25/25 and maybe it’ll be good.

Cool idea, but really slow. It costs 9 mana, and it needs to generate immediate value to be of any use. Maybe it can deal damage to all nearby enemy minions at the end of turn as a building?

Went for pure flair there, not so much caring about removelyst. Reducing the build time to 1 and pretend it to be a really hardy egg could suffice as well… Or give it some absurd defensive potential + taunt in the meantime.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve changed the description to be a little clearer.

Abyssian has a lot of steal cards; i.e. taking cards from your opponent.
This card, on the other hand, gives cards to your opponent.

Its purpose is to disrupt your opponent’s game plans by replacing them with cards of your own. It’s approximately equivalent to forcing your opponent to discard 1 card in their hand and drawing your hand. So no, it wouldn’t proc Kron twice.

Instead of letting you mimic the opponent, this forces the opponent to mimic you.

This card looks like the top card of the opponent’s deck. Draw the top card of your opponent’s deck.

Garbage day
2 mana spell
Put your hand on top of your opponent’s deck, and draw the number of cards you gave this way.

Yeah I had a lot of trouble coming up with something for Rag that’s better than a Ripper egg and not totally game breaking, I’m open to any suggestions.

For Vaath, I just wanted to connect him to grow minions somehow, since he kinda has grow himself and I thought by 9 mana (Kaiju + BBS cost) it wouldn’t be so bad to have a Godzilla Vaath around without any other bodies to support him anyway. Not terribly original I know, but Bounded and Finality also have similar concepts, yet they’re different enough to justify one over the other.

The cost of the BBS would remain at 1, that’s why I didn’t mention it in the text. Do you think it’s too cheap? I feel making it more expensive (and as such impossible to play in the same turn as Kaiju) would kinda render the spell useless.
