Expansion spoiler - Legion (Lyonar)

DYRgYm9W0AI3NR3

Lyonar’s second intensify card swarms your hand and deck, before it swarms the field. Is it any good? A shame that Afterblaze is gone when this gets released, huh?

Also, name checks out. We are legion and we are many!

This is the counter to Millmar we never knew we needed

Swarms and resists mill. Lyonar gets cool.

But, unpleased by no Lysian or Azurite title.
the houses of highmane are barren, but they have mercenaries

Swarm support I presume? The card looks annoying to play against but I can’t see it receiving much play due to the fact that it will either flood your hand or deck. I’m pretty unsure about this card so maybe someone else can change my mind.

Beautiful card but 3 mana for a 3/2 is really painful. Seems like a card you almost have to combine with a buff on the same turn? An effective 4/4 stats for 2 minions doesn’t sound too great until you factor in the Provoke, positioning options and the many Lyonar buffs. On the fence, but will try.

Nice zoo minion addition for Lyonar, has a lot of synergy with swarm-based cards like Auroara and Surgeforger!

@ThanatosNoa does the card shuffle effect also stack with the intensify? Meaning we basically can’t deck out if we keep playing this guy?

It only ever adds one Legion into the deck, Intensify only works on the numbers listed on the card (this case, the amount of Crestfallen it generates)

Notice the full stop, however, making it a new line entirely would be great.

It’s a really interesting card, but I can’t tell whether it is any good. I don’t play swarm, but it might fit in there.

I’m curious to see how often this guy will clutter your hand. It only fits fast decks, where you don’t want to keep cards in your hands, but I see the value in the Crestfallen to keep your board healthy.

this card allows swarm to get into the lategame without the requisite empty hand.

lyonars new motto “i have more bodies than you have removal”

i just wish that was abyssians motto :sob:

I can imagine a new type of swarm that stalls 'till call to arms is played to unleash the crestfallen

That’s a lot of token generation on a three drop. I’m always weary when judging cheap cards that can draw 2 or more cards on their own. Scroll Bandit, Circulus, and Dreamweaver were all initially underrated, but seismoid turned out to be a dud. This guy might be three mana, but you don’t have to let him live to start a token card generating chain, so I will tentatively rate this “Meta Defining.”

This card is either. insanely good or not worth it for it’s cost.

That’s my thoughts.

Won’t it be clearer if you just swap the lines. Then you only see “Put 1 Crestfallen into your action bar” beside the Intensify keyword.
It’s not like order of effect matters here.

Well, no. Because regardless of how Legion hits the battlefield, you’ll get one into your deck, but never more than one.

I can’t exactly decide if this will be good or not, but I can tell you I love it. The effect seems like a optimal fit in my Swarm Brome decks, and the art is badass as well. Can’t wait to experiment with this guy!

On a side note, can we make this 2/4? I want to proc Auroara. Even better, it could been a 2 mana 2/3. :disappointed_relieved:

I hate crestfallens. Good card though, it’s a circulus who hit the gym and dropped magic. Magic is for nerds anyway.
