Deck not saving automatically

Listen, you gotta make the decks you create save by themselves, because all I do in this game at the moment is make a cool deck and then find out that my deck wasn’t saved because I forgot to press the “Save” button.

I know that it’s partially my own fault, but from a design standpoint I don’t see why a dedicated save button is necessary. It’s not something you remember when all you wanna do after making your ingenious deck is go test it.

Make decks save by themselves. It would be greatly appreciated.

I understand why you want auto-save.
However there are often two sides of a story.

Sometimes you want to adjust your deck. However sometimes after you made said changes the deck could look worse. So you want to undo the changes and press cancel/back. Auto-save would make it more difficult to change back, especially if you have bad memory.

Also if you can press cancel/back you can press save.

I see your point. However, yet again it doesn’t make sense (maybe a little bit).

You mentioned that it is good to have a cancel button in case the changes don’t work out. That’s all good but in my opinion it is much easier to remember a few cards that you replaced rather than a whole deck you just created. Furthermore, having the deck save automatically also makes more logical sense.

In short; Introducing auto-save will lead to a carefree deck-building experience.

Another solution could be making that the only possible way to exit the deck editor is by pressing either the “cancel” or “save” button. I mean, to remove the back arrow button on the top left corner.

That would be a clever fix actually. Nice suggestion.

To improve on the idea, maybe the back button should create a pop-up window asking you if you want to undo or save changes.

Maybe that’s an easier and cleaner fix in the code, because the back button is in every menu screen. Perhaps removing it from one of them is untidier than adding a small pop-up script
