For me personally its the former, but my general advice is if added content is some crux for a player to stay on, then that expectation should be shifted/adjusted. I’m sure many such as yourself still do and will hopefully continue to enjoy the game in the future and honestly thats fine.

This. I still believe duelyst is the best ccg around. Yes, no new content sucks and it will drain the player base but i simply like this game too much for leaving it.

That’s fair.

I understand people, this game hasn’t changed much during the last 7 months and they want new input. Though in my opinion we have a pretty good meta right now especially in comparison to older ones.

It’s a Christmas miracle! I can’t wait for the next dev post in 6 months when the game is finally dead!

Happy Holidays everyone, and I hope you guys have a great and fruitful 2019!

I echo all of the comments about staying here regardless of delivery of new content. I am planning to stay here as long as possible.

And trust me when I say this: the meta is not as bad as people here think. Things could be a lot worse. You could have Shadowverse’s meta, where there are only a few viable decks to use on the constructed ladder at this point and all of them very expensive, not to mention that the rotation system and a few of the expansions did kill off class identity a lot thoroughly than whatever Duelyst have done.

Sure, Duelyst’s meta is better than Shadowverse’s, but that honestly isn’t saying much.

Any less than “better meta than Hearthstone”? Because I can recall all of the memes about pirates, face-hunter, and others. I haven’t played Hearthstone, but I heard lots of stories about it during the beginning of my Duelyst career, and I must say that it really deter me from Hearthstone, and it must be fore good reason.

Yes, Hearthstone did have some ridiculous metas over the years. Deathrattle Hunter, OP Boom, Jade Druid, Midrange Shaman, Cubelock, Quest Rogue… you name it. I can confirm those as a player who played HS for over 3 years and spent a lot of money on it. And those metas were the reason I quit HS alltogether around K&C (and maybe my weird decks xd).

Well I would just look at older Duelyst metas. I think there were many worse

Shadowverse’s meta is abhorrent. It’s the precise example of how not to balance a game. I’d assume the same applies to Hearthstone.

I am really sorry to hear you played such a bad game for 2 years.

I disagree with you on many things and I won’t go into details but I can’t ignore what you say about Thanatos. Your comment makes it abundantly clear that you have no idea what he did for the game and its community.

Also they never promised anything, they talked about hopes and intentions. I don’t get all the uproar about it. There was never any spoiler, no other information at all. We only had a community member relaying a message from CPG. What should happen? An expansion out of nowhere? Best case scenario was a patch, maybe that one is still coming, maybe not.

@snowshot Am I happy about the way many things were handled and how they turned out to be especially since Namco? No, not at all but I don’t see any value in running around and telling people how good everything was in the past and how shit it is now till everybody believes me. Because honestly not everything in the past was better. Duelyst got many improvements since 2017 and I am very glad for them. You make it sound so easy, past > present, but it is always more complicated.
And just in general what do you try to achieve? What is your goal? I know you are very unhappy with the game’s state right now but why do you try to convince everybody else of the same?

I am pretty sure i never mentioned Thanatos anywhere in my post so no clue what your so touchy about. I’ve been talking about CPG as a whole. I am not going to blame thanatos for all the mistakes of the higher ups of CPG, why should I?

Call it whatever you want, promise, intention, plan doesn’t matter. They said they want to continue to work on Duelyst, that they would only slow down content release and that they have something they want/intent to release in Q4 and here we are at the end of Q4 with god damn nothing what so ever. Everything they said back then was nothing but a big pile of bullshit. I doubt they ever even had any intentions to do something. If you want to keep defending everything they do because your so in love with this game that you can’t see straight go ahead, but to me CPG is the absolute last company i will ever buy a game from ever again.

CPG never made any promises; they were very intentional with their words. Nobody should be surprised/disappointed Q4 isn’t real.

Last company after someone like EA or Activision?

Well if this game dies there should be a way to revive it. If nobody looks after it maybe nobody will care if someone copies it for mobile… The code has to be written anew anyway.

We’re definitely not just sitting on a stockpile of news that we’re refusing to share. We simply don’t have any.

I have a feeling the old adage “no news is good news” does not apply in this case.
