Battlefy Support Ending

Hi Folks,

We recently tested a program to provide prizing for Community Tournaments on Battlefy. This was an effort to support, nurture and grow the Duelyst Tournament scene. During that time we have been monitoring the activity and we have decided to take more time to evaluate its impact and how it can be improved.

Consequently, the Community Prizing Program on Battlefy will be halted effective July 1st. This does not mean that Battlefy will no longer be an option to use for hosting tournaments as a Community Tournament Organizer. In fact, we would love to see the Duelyst Community continue to make use of Battlefy to organize and distribute tournaments. Rest assured, any Community Tournament Organizer who wants to host tournaments for Duelyst will still be able to use Battlefy as their platform.

If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them here in our forums.

Thanks,
Stormshade

Will there still be support for prizes??

If yes what kind of prizes?

How will it be organized now? What are the requirements etc.?

Will we get support for like ingame messages informing people about community tournaments?

Apparently you are our main community manager now. Will you be on Reddit and Discord too? Thanatos was always present.

  1. Yes.

  2. People can message me explaining the details of their tournament and I’ll do my best to work out a support package for them. The requirements will be remaining the same. That being said, we won’t be able to provide cash prizes moving forward, only in-game goods. So, I’ll have to come up with an reinforcement for top tier tourneys.

I won’t be able to do in-game messaging. We just don’t have the technology available in Duelyst right now. However, if you let me know when your tourney/twitch stream/podcast/anything you do to support the Duelyst Community, I’ll make sure it’s shared on our social channels.

I lurk in Discord frequently, but will likely not be actively responding to people there as Thanatos has. I am and will continue to be on Reddit, and I’ll stop lurking there now that Thanatos is leaving us, and actually start posting some.

Thanks,

Stormshade

Discord is such an active and important platform for our community, won’t there be any manager there?

It is also way easier to communicate than through forum or reddit.

are there any plans to have some official tournaments again? community ones are all well and good, but it would be nice to have ones that are larger like the trials of mythron launch or the opens that led up to dwc

He owns the Duelyst Official discord however.

aw shucks, there goes my future plans on becoming budget Dooly Pegasus. It’s nice to know we’re still getting support for prizes tho!

Still doesn’t work for CPG and can’t do the things Thanatos or another CM could / would do.

I know the community is strong there, which is why I’ll be lurking in the server. However, while I’ll admit it’s super easy to chat and use Discord for that, it also doesn’t do a great job of archiving information.

The forums and Reddit, in that regard, are much better. It makes it much easier for things I say to be recorded for others to find if it’s on a platform which isn’t scrolling super fast.

Thanks,

We are all doomed.

We have 3 turns to react.
