Don’t have the cards to play it, so it’s neat seeing the archetype playing out. Fun replay.
Abyssian Deck Tech: Retro Ramp Lilithe
Extra: Since you have a lot of the cards, I’ve been curious if Calculator would work with Ghoulie in hand; if you or anyone else knows it.
Ah yea, sol gives ghoulie rush, and ghoulie boosts calculator, just might have something on our hands here.
Thunderhorn/rev is the only reason this isnt good!

Could try Songhai + Crimson Coil or a more standard Starhorn deck as well.
Crafted and tested, Ghoulie does indeed add stats to calc, and it gains rush from sol!
I picked vet since it wants to run pax/rae anyways for a fault deck, so figured if I am ever going to shove more pets in somewhere may as well start with a fairly competitive deck that already used them.
This will be the first deck to be featured on my new show: decks that lose horribly to meta cards.
Well I am going to go give it a whirl.
Episode 2 will be: Artifact Sajj vs EMP!
Which one of the units named EMPwill prevail?!
Sadly between Revenant and Thunderhorn its just to risky to play. Its pretty strong baring its hard counters which are quite common.
does feralu give buffs to minions in hand?
No he doesn’t, his buff only affects tribal minions on the field.
thats terrible… well it would have made calculator a lot more viable.
Sorry to keep derailing your thread here, let’s move discussion of Vets Pets to my master thread, I posted my new version of the deck over there.
I really just don’t understand the Skorn. In Lilithe. So much antisynergy here. And besides that, why not use things like Cryptographer to get more little dudes to sacrifice to Deepfrier, and throw in a DFC for even more combo potential? Idk it’s kinda weird
That’s basicly what I did for my version of Deepfire, but I am going to have to argue in favor of Skorn for what he is doing.
Skorn provides a good way to deal with walls and dragonlarks, and in a swarm deck it’s a great way to get a surprise deathwatch play, or in this case he’s not running swarm so on the occasion he does play it, it’s not going to kill any of his stuff.
Now obviously I prefer my Bottomless Abyss approach for the ramp style, and I usually opt for grasp for my abyss AOE, but in his deck it provides a solid counter to problematic matchups, and a body for devourer to eat.
On a side note for your deck I would recommend Azure instead of celebrant, it’s a ton of fun with deepfire and other sacrifice effects that you have in abundance, and I would go for inkling surge or Desolator over Soujner.
And I know that I just defended your Skorn pick, but EMP may be the better choice, has worked wonders in bottomless.
Here is my version of your deck, going to add it to my master thread, certainly going to shoot you some credit though:

While I love mindlathe it sadly just does not fit the meta very well, hopefully in the not to distant future azure/walls will get hit freeing up grasp and or emp slots for cool stuff like lathe.
Believe me, I get it, Skorn in Lilitthe makes about as much sense as EMP in Obelysk Vet,
My concern is that Abyssian has no good AoE (I find Breath of the Unborn too slow for the current meta). Skorn is at least SOME form of AoE, which is especially important for Wall Vanar, and helping to mitigate Azure Summoning combos. Flameblood Warlocks and Desolators also pop up frequently for me. It’s just good tech for the most popular decks on ladder at the moment. @deathsadvocate pretty much summed that up. Plus most units in my deck aren’t too frail, so I’m fine putting in this sort of awkward card for the sake of teching against some popular decks.
I could try a swarmy deck to support this card. I just haven’t tried it because of the success with the current version. Definitely worth looking into though.
It’s probably open for improvement (I did make the swap from Celebrant to Azure Horn Shaman, and haven’t regretted it yet since I have no Deathwatch synergy anyway). I’m no Abyss main, but it’s 12-2 at Rank 2 currently, so I think it has potential, and I don’t want to touch a deck if it’s doing fine as it is,
Skorn does wonders if the opponent tries to evade most of your swarm and allows for surprise lethal with any deathwatch synergy card.
I think that Skorn is the best tech card for the meta right now.
